The Fukasaku Small Pupil Snapper Hook and Chopper is a reusable ophthalmic instrument designed for the Fukasaku “snap and split” phaco technique during cataract procedures. The short wedge-shaped tip is used to crack the nucleus within the safe central area, while the smoothly polished notched superior edge can retract the pupil and improve visibility in cases involving a small pupil or floppy iris syndrome.
